LEO Films Born 1991

LEO Films is a distributor of independent films to the U.S. and world market and has released over 80 feature films that run the gamut from Sundance to genre.

Formed by President and Academy Award winner, Steve Lustgarten, in the Fall of 1991, the company has grown with the home entertainment business over the years and now handles foreign sales as well as direct domestic distribution, going straight to the buyers of the major chains and wholesalers. An eclectic film roster reflects the company's aim to provide a broad base for independently produced films no matter what their subject manner and audience. Our newest foray has been into Latino films and we are actively trying to expand our acquisitions in that area.

In the U.S. our films are purchased by Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Ingram, VPD, Baker and Taylor, and other stores. We also look for content that would be suitable for various forms of tv and foreign release.

On the production side, LEO Films has produced or financed several features We are often looking for appropriate opportunities to work with filmmakers who are putting their projects together, whether it be distribution guarantees or post production, we may be able to help.

We are excited about the opportunities forthcoming in the new digital media distribution channels and will be making many of our titles available on a number of the new download and streaming channels. We will also be acquiring content for the web that may have already been released in other formats. This is a great way to get material out again in an entirely new format and across a wide range of the new platforms and sites that are catering to film and video. Also, we're developing a whole new programming area for us with the inclusion of shorts, television shows, pilots and webisodes for online distribution.
