When Ross, a dreamer stuck in a dead end job, meets Martin at Mr.B's downtown bar, the stage is set for a pairing of schemers who think the only good buck is a fast buck. They think they've found their golden goose in Dino, a hard drinker, who likes to show off his briefcase full of valuable coins at the bar. Enter sexy Madeline, who first sleeps with Ross and then falls for Dino, seeing that diamonds are a girl's best friends. This treacherous group sets a trap for Dino, but the ploy backfires and the victim ends up hovering near death in a coma with the police anxious to solve the crime. With the heat on, their nerves start to fray and a simple con turns into a game of life and death for these stingers.
