The year is 1942 and New Zealand is calling up her boys for a war in the Pacific. Barely 21 years of age, Ed, has just married his 16 year old sweetheart, Daisy, who is pregnant with their child. He vows to take her home to her parents before shipping out to war. But when his company receives orders to leave without a chance to contact Daisy, the young soldier is forced into a decision that will change the rest of his life. Ed goes AWOL risking a court martial for desertion, or order to honor his pledge and see his young wife home safely.
